Lunch and the Kids Play

A pic of the kids acting out a play from Mai's Princess Bible on Sunday. Jack is the king wearing the tin foil/metrx box crown and Mai was Namaan? from the story in Isaiah - she obviously has a skin disease. They LOVE acting out these stories!

2nd pic is lunch - Enchilada Soup. LOTS of garlic and onions. Hope I survive...

hungover run and hike with the kids

So before all my cooking and freezing yesterday, Mai and were driving home from grocery shopping and she had been playing a game on my phone while in the shopping cart. We have this little tradition of singing Madonna's Holiday at the top of our lungs first thing when we get in the car (every time we get in the car). We don't just sing, we clap, snap, and throw our hands around in the air like we're at a gospel church. So we're doing our thing and she hands me the phone back and I realize I'm on the line with my insurance agent...and have been for some time. Hm...hope he doesn't have caller ID.

Then after the cooking and freezing, Jack and I headed to church (Dad stayed home with Mai who was still running a temp in the 100s) and with only 3 or so hours of sleep under my belt, I actually fell asleep during the closing prayer when Pastor Kip asked us to close our eyes.

Because I guess I wasn't sleepy enough, I had some wine before bed and boy did I pay big this morning on my interval run. SUCKEDY SUCKEDY SUCK SUCK SUCK! After finishing the run and sucking down an omelette, I started nursing my hangover I realized that I still needed to take Ki out for a trail run or hike to honor part of an 84 day challenge I'm doing with some friends over at Mommies. Yikes! So in my hazy stupor, I thought it would be a good idea to get the kids out for some fresh air with us. We ended up at Powell Butte Nature Park and had a great (if dehydrated- at least mama) time. We all sucked our camelbak's dry.

The kids demanded they eat their snacks in the gulch. Take them to a nature preserve and they want to hang out in the concrete gully. Kids...

More Food

It always surpises me when people say they are bored with eating healthy Body For Life food. There are so many options and if you try you can make almost anything into a healthy alternative. 1st pic is EFL Golden pancakes for breakfast, the second meal may not look pretty but it's so good: I melt a little cottage cheese, LF cheese, spicy turkey burger and salsa and then top hashbrowns with it. 3rd pic is my yummy turkey/ham sandwich for lunch. 4 and 5 are EFL enchiladas and chimichangas.

What I Ate Yesterday

My pictures suck. Maybe it's time for a new camera.
My food tasted so good I thought I would take some pictures but they don't do my meals justice.

M1 Hawaiian Omelette
M2 Almost Cheesecake and Blueberries (I def like strawberries better with this) - but still yum!
M3 Stir fry. I didn't have any rice cooked up so i just threw in a 1/2 box of raisens for a change.
M4 Turkey Burger Sandwich...mmm mmm good!
M5 pwo MetRx/glutamine
M6 Nighttime TP shake. Can you believe I ordered a huge jug of protein powder on the internet and it arrived in an unlabeled white tub with someone's crayon scrawl on the outside and I ACTUALLY decided to ingest it??

I don't normally track but I plugged it in to LL and came out with

1730 cals
39c/45p/17f macros

One More Camping Trip...

This weekend was our newly formed annual August camping trip with my Aunts and Uncles and Cousins and kiddos from my Dad's side of the family. Last year was way too cold, this year - well, let me just say that when I saw my car thermostat show 111 degrees on my way down South, I almost turned around and headed back home. Boy, was it a SCORCHING HOT camping trip - but it was lots of fun. Let's see, first two pics are my Uncle Ed (hero of the trip because he brought two rafts for the kids) rowing a couple kids around the river. Third is of Mai competing with the other wee ones in their own version of WipeOut. Fourth is the kids hiking out for Blackberries - Mom made the best fresh blackberry pies ever!! Fifth pic is the kids hangin' in the rafts we tied up to the shore. We could just sit back and not worry about them floating away- they had a blast. They eventually made the boats into their own trampolines and would run on the shore, jump onto the raft edge and then sail into the boat. Last pic is Dad and Baby "Oven" - I love when my dad smiles like that!

Wednesday Fun and Thursday Workout

Well, I didn't get my workout done yesterday, but the kids and dog had a good day. Mai and jack and I went to the park and the icecream guy pulled up right when we got there. Mai's Spongebob thingy did nothing for me but when Jack only ate 1/2 of his Haagen Daas bar and offered the rest to me, it was soooooooooooo hard to throw it in the garbage...but I did. The kids had lots of fun swimming. Steve took them to the pool the other day and he said Jack went up to the lifeguard at one point and said that "some girl" was choking him and bugging him and couldn't he do something about it. That "some girl" was his sister!! Haha. I bet Steve was happy to let the lifeguard take care of some sibling fighting for awhile. They got along fine for me!

Then Mai and I took Ki to the dogpark for a quick 30 minutes which turned into almost an hour and a half because she was having so much fun. 5 other Huskies showed up and a couple of her favorite other dogs and they sure put on a show for us. By the time Mai and I got back from grocery shopping it was after 9:30 and at that point the gym was a no go - instead, bed...

I DID get up at 5 this morning tho and got that workout done!

Monday ~ Back in the Swing of Things

Ginger Hutchinson above.

After really close to a month off of scheduled exercise, I felt really good about yesterday's workouts - except the pool, which I realized I haven't been in since before our camping trip - gosh time is flying!!!!!!! I started a new DC blast which of course will be interrupted shortly, I'm sure, by my other Tracy. We haven't worked out together this Summer which isn't unusual but I'm hoping we can get together a bit in August because with Mai starting 3 day/wk pre-school, I'm not sure we're going to be able to meet up at the gym at a mutually acceptable hour this Fall. poop. Hopefully something will work out.

On to the workouts ~

Pac Crest Pics

I finally got the pics of Dad and I on the bike portion at Pac Crest. I was delirious at this point, thus the crazy grin. I think I was trying to wave at the photographer - I'm surprised I didn't fall over. Dad's already talking about doing a full Ironman. I don't know about THAT, but I'm definitely all over Pac Crest 2009!!!

Things have been pretty uneventful around here. I'm in a big gap of nothing in terms of workouts or events. I called off Hood to Coast - with Jack being so sick for two weeks and Steve not feeling well for so long, I just wasn't getting in the time for runs. I was scheduled to do an olympic tri tomorrow but we're having family over to celebrate the kids' birthdays so I canceled that, too. I haven't been hitting the gym much either. A swim here and there and a couple days in the weight room but no schedule and I don't do well without a workout schedule. I thought I would be thrilled after such a huge training commitment for Pac Crest, but this kind of blows.

Lots of cleaning and painting to do today and then I think after this weekend's festivities I'll sit down and dedicate some time to working on a workout schedule and pick some more events. Definitely some triathlons and maybe some new stuff, too.
