Dog Days of Summer

Yes! Spring has just arrived and we are already looking forward to these months of allergies to be over and for the dog days of summer to be here...like NOW! Nothing better on the early morn of a hot summer day than to hike to find some nice waterfalls to cool off by, so we've started working on our Waterfall Journal for this year. We'll update you with our adventures as we aim to find at least 20 waterfalls to fill our pages about.

My allergies are killing me! I get to help out at pre-school today and for once, I'm sure I'll have the runniest nose in the room.

Workouts are going ok. I didn't make it to the gym this a.m. for RT, but had a nice swim on Monday. I had a minor mishap when I actually hit the wall in the pool full on with a bunch of people standing on deck watching me. I tried to act like nothing happened. What a fool. Ouch!
Forgot where I was and what I was doing- just swimming swimming swimming and forgot there were boundaries. I can't wait for open water swims to get onto the schedule!

Did a 6 mile run yesterday with no shin splints!! This weekends long run will tell the truth, though.

Ok, off to blow my nose and try not to scratch my eyes out.

Yes, My NEIGHBOR does have a beautiful yard ;-)

Mine is still "in the works" so far this spring...so I made sure Mai was appropriately situated on our deck when I snapped that one :p

Spring hasn't sprung here either unfortunately! But I guess it gives me something to look forward to still. That would be so awesome to have those waterfalls near by! Our fun in the summer is going to Lake Michigan and the sand dunes.

I've swam right into the pool wall before too! Yep, it hurts, lol! I'm horrible in open water though because I can't stay on track!

Enjoy your long run this weekend!

I do love spring - we have about 3 weeks of it and then go right to summer ;)

Julie -
I got kicked in the gut with PDL today as I was reading Day 30 "don't waste your life in a job that doesn't express your heart." I don't do what I do for the money but I certainly do it for the security and the benefits! My job is fairly easy and I'm a state employee so I have really good insurance, holidays, retirement, etc. It's safe and I settled. I feel certain that God allowed me a period of rest and recovery while working there - I feel that he put me there but now I'm starting to get the impression that I'm a big girl and it's time for me to get out in the world and spread my wings. SCARY! But I know that he will light my path! Scary and exciting! I honestly have no idea what my life will look like this time next year and I haven't been in that place in a long time.

On another note, after much prayerful consideration, I started a bible study last night - Breaking Free by Beth Moore. I have read the book and I just feel that the timing is right for this one. You know, I have some bondage issues - like my feelings of unworthiness to step out and really serve like I need to serve.

Thanks again.

Shellene, I started Breaking Free almost 5 years ago and never finished it - I should pull it out again - maybe this Summer when my women's group is on break.

I am so excited for you and all you are going through right now in preparation for what will come in your life as you "spread your wings"!!!!
