Sploosh, Kersplat

Rain, rain, rain
Rain, rain, rain
Dribble, dribble, sploosh!
Dribble, dribble, sploosh!
Grab your boots, your coat, and hat,
Jump in a puddle and go kersplat!
Stomp about and become a drowned rat,
Rain, rain, rain
Rain, rain, rain  - A. Lachhut

Last night at 7pm as I sat outside Duniway Track in my car and watched my windshield cover over with water...

I thought dark thoughts, I prolonged the inevitable, I sang a little ditty...should I stay or should I go now?
This indecision's bugging me. The clash between hot seat warmers and big rainy puddles was huge in my mind...

...so I went.
To check it out.
...And I loved it!
FUN!

First track w/o in a looooong time. My left glute is still bugging me and a cold has settled in my chest, but I went for it and had a blast. It dumped on us the whole time but it was a warm rain and 4.75 miles later I rejoined my hot seat warmers, steamed up the car and headed home to bed. YUM!

ugh, rain. Way to make the most of it. I don't mind the rain, but I HATE the wind.

Wow, girl, you inspire me. I was looking at the weather for next Tuesday and already freaking out about running the track in the rain. You did it in the rain and the dark. I think I've lost my excuses.

A rain run sounds soooo much better than a snow run! Jealous!

That dread is always so much worse than the reality of rain! Glad you got out and enjoyed it.

Hi Julie!

Nice blog you have here. FYI, I created a community of triathlete bloggers online called TriumphTriathlon.com. It's still in BETA phase right now but I'm trying to grow the community. You could also win free entry into the 140.6 of your choice! Please check out. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work on your blog!

Make it a great day,
Ruben

Way to get out there! I find that it's never (OK, not usually) as bad as I make it out to be while I'm struggling with myself over going.

I love when you dread something and then find out it's really great!

Great job on getting out there! WARM rain runs can be fun - booo to the cold ones!

It really WAS a nice evening...even with the rain. I think I was having trouble committing because I don't feel well. You know, everything seems like SUCH WORK when you're under the weather.

What a whiny baby :D

Warm rain would be great - cold rain is what we have here, though, and it stinks! :(

You are officially WAY more dedicated than I am! I don't mind a sprinkle, but I can't seem to get out there in a downpour like that. Nice job and nice post! Very poetic.

The rain...bummer. I hate ran. I hate alot of things about the weather right now, but sunny and 65 here today - yeah - spring is just around the corner.

I love running in the rain. Track workout...? I don't love that at all.

warm rain is the best, like running in the rain in the summer!
