A Day In The Yard

It couldn't wait any longer. Between my training schedule and poor weather, I had put off helping with yard work long enough. Besides...I wanted some wine last night...and to not get up at the crack of dawn again today - so I skipped the group run. This means I'm running 11-13 miles by myself tomorrow to make it up. BUT...I got to spend some time with the family in the sun today doing a bunch of this...
so our side of the fence could look as good as the other side of the fence...

and watching Mai getting the bath ready for the birds...

and watching Jack take some time out to have a little giggle...
and watch Ki stalk the neighbor's duck...

and not catch Ki until she had eaten about a bucket's worth of compost...

and then watch Mai explain to her how her doggy tummy was going to feel tonight after all that naughtiness...
and see the look on Jack's face...

when he found out he was getting to mow on his own for the first time...

and play with last summer's bubbles we found under a pile of leaves...
and then rest...

Oh I love this! What a great series of snapshots of your day. :) We spent part of the day working on our landscaping, too. I love working in the yard and gardening, and that was one of the first things to fall by the wayside when I started running. Hard to fit it all in.

Your lawn looks amazing! I wish ours looked that good. Part of the plan for our three day weekend this week is getting the yard back in action.

Loving the pics!

What a great day! Totally worth doing a solo run! It's been raining so much here we might as well live in Oregon! I'm glad you got to spend time with the fam!

Great pics, looks like you made the right decision! Yard work is ALWAYS what I put off. If I was ever rich a gardner would be the investment I would splurge on!
