Soooo....I've been stretching, icing, and rolling my poor foot since a miserable day after track this week. Did I happen to mention the other day that I
self diagnosed my plantar fasciitis? The symptoms fit the bill and while at work today...
oh ya...while at work today, while I was sneaking in some calf raises, I happened to look up at the wall directly in front of me where all the trainers pictures hang, and there it was...
A nice big MUSTACHE taped to my mug! HAHAHA! Whether applied by friend or foe, it had me chuckling. I must admit, for a moment I wondered who has it out for me...but then I figured it must have been one of my clients that had to let me know how they felt after fit group or core class last night. I thought that I should share the fun...
...So I moved it over to Susie's picture...
I wonder how long before she notices it :p
Where was I? Oh yes, while I was
screwing off working, I decided that I should probably think about that little 10 mile trail run on my schedule for tomorrow. Run it? Skip it? Cut it short? Hmmm...maybe I should see about getting it
Taped and GO FOR IT! I checked with
Smarty pants runner Jill to see what she thought and she gave me the ok, but also reminded me to not just "tape up" the problem, but to check out
The Sockdoc's site for good information! You might remember he did some Q&A on a blog a while back and one of my questions got picked and he called me "hard core" (ie: stupid) and told me to listen to my body and give it a break. I've obviously not gotten wiser since that Q&A a year ago :p Sorry Mr. Socks. I'm 44 now, and much more mature than I was at 43...so I'm reading your stuff and taking serious notes!
After
my calf workout work I schlepped my poor foot down to Dr. Marasco and after some poking and prodding he confirmed that it is NOT PF!! Woot Woot! It is either a bone bruise, a fat pad injury or a peroneal injury....all of which are better than plantar fasciitis. So they taped me up...
...and I'll be back sometime this weekend to let you know if I make it all 10 miles. I better...I have a little 1/2 marathon coming up in two weeks and this will be my longest run of the year.
Have you ever been taped? What body part? Did it help?

At least it was a moustache and not a big, yellow booger. Oh...wait..., :)
I love that you are sharing the joy of the mustache.
I have never used KT tape. I wouldn't even know what to use it for.
Well-NO PF is certainly super news!!! That is one injury I would NOT like to have. I have self-diagnosed medical student syndrome. I've almost died of both dengue fever and malaria.... Jill would certainly be a super resource here!!
I've been a bit absent from blogworld. Still reading but a bit behind on the commenting. Best of luck on your 10. I will check back and see how it goes!
That's great news it's not pf! Looking forward to the tape report.
I think I would rather tell people that I have PF, not a "fat pad injury." :) Good luck with the healing!
I had PF, fat pad bruise, heel contusion, and about 30 other diagnosis, even Severs Disease - which is found in children, not adults. Ha. Glad it's not PF (but am interested how a few pokes can confirm this. Weird). Anyway, smarty pants here just wants to you to have an awesome 10 miler so you rock that neon green tape and don't let that heel talk back to you and run happy, girl!!!
xo
Have a great 10 miles!
That's a mighty pretty foot!! I'm glad it's not PF...that sucks!
Love the mustache. I think you should keep it.
I happen to like the mustache. :)
Hope your run goes well. Oh and are you suppose to have long runs before a 1/2? Cuz I have one tomorrow and the longest run I've had in forever is 7 miles and it was weeks ago.
Such a relief! My left foot has been similarly taped for the last 3.5 weeks.
That 'stache is hilarious : )
YAY for no PF! I taped my hammy after I pulled it last year, I really do think it helped a lot.
That pic is hilarious and love the camaraderie at your gym!
PLEASE let us know how taping went---I think this is my next step--Jill is very SMART-not just her pants! ;)
