We're off on our annual Sunvriver Family Vacation. Both Steve's family and my family get together in two houses and just RELAX! Most days you'll catch us waking up earlier than usual to about 32-40 degree temps and keeping warm by bundling up and drinking coffee out on the porch while trying to catch sight of some early morning visitors like coyotes, deer, raccoons and chipmunks. Then it's off for golfing or a leasurely bike ride around the trails...maybe out to the stables or the airport. Then we head to The Village for some shopping or an icecream or yet more coffee and then to the pool. By this time it's probably reached around 100 degrees and the pool will keep us entertained for some time. We head back home for a nap and then another bike ride or walks or outdoor games like badminton or horseshoes or tossing the football around and then we shower up and head to one or the other house for dinner and drinks and hot tubbing and playing board games long past the children fall asleep - which they do...with no trouble whatsoever because they are completely wiped out. We finally all fall into bed and wake the next morning to start it all over again. It is my favorite time of the year.

And I always love reading about it, seeing the pictures and living vicariously through you when you take your Sunriver vacations!
Where do you recommend we stay? THis crowd needs a vacation. What do you tihk its like in the fall?

I usually go through http://www.village-properties.com/ or http://www.sunrayinc.com/ to book a house. There's a couple other rental companies, but I know that these two allow free access to pool and the gym (rec center/wave pool, etc) You can stay in the lodge, but I prefer getting a house. There are budget houses all the way up to houses with a hangar for your personal plane (haha)...we usually get something in the $225 to $250 per night price range and have never been too disappointed...but you can definately get nicer. The closest I've been to Fall is over Labor day weekend. The weather is still great, but colder in the mornings and sometimes a little cool(windy) at the pool. We're actually going to try to get back with my mom and dad in Nov or Dec this year as long as there is snow on the ground - which doesn't always happen...but when it snows obviously there is no bike riding, but lots of cross country skiing and snowshoeing and cuddling by the fireplace and hottubbing with snowflakes on your nose :o)
