Light the Night

Dear friends and family,

I wanted to let you know that next week I will be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night© Walk. I am walking with Mom and her goal is to raise $1000.00 and we need your help! We have personally seen the effects that blood cancers can have and have been part of the incredible effort that the Society makes to further its mission: Cure myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, and Hodgkin’s disease, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The walk is only a week away, and we've just decided to attend and try to raise this money on short notice.

More than 823,000 American adults and children are living with blood cancer. New diagnoses are made every five minutes, while someone dies every ten minutes. The good news is that progress is being made. Thanks to advances in treatments, survival rates are dramatically increasing. Because Mom lost Cathryn Golly to Multiple Myeloma just last month, she'll be walking in her honor. I, of course, am walking in support of my mom. Every dollar raised now is a dollar towards finding a cure for her cancer and keeping her healthy.

Please help us “Light The Night on September 21 in Eugene. You can join Mom's team, "Myeloma Survivors" and/or donate to the cause.

To donate to the cause, please follow this link to Mom's homepage (I am not raising money on my page so please put all donations towards her goal): http://www.active.com/donate/ltnPortla/2059_kglazierLTN
