Larry's Logs And Other Sunday Laziness

Slept 10 hours to wake up to another sunny Sunday. The kiddos and I took Ki for a walk...

Marched on Larry's 206 logs...

Rested.

I also worked for 6 hours in an attempt to get caught up from vacation # 2, in order to attempt an impromptu vacation #3 and head out on Wednesday for a camping trip with Mom and Dad. I think it's going to happen!!

I made it to the gym twice. Hit upper body and a wee bit of cardio in the a.m. When we got back from our dog walk, Mai had me do her favorite Pilates 10 minute ab solution with her. When I chose to do the "beginner" routine and she chose the advanced, I heard her snicker and say under her breath "she's doing the beginner option". Then when we finished she asked me if my abs were burning. I said yes (although I'm sure she could have assumed this by my crumpled up heap of self on the floor) and she replied that hers weren't even tingling. After being put in my place by little miss 5 year old, I went back for a 30 min swim in the evening where I could do my geriatric workout in peace. Upon returning home, I  munched down a bunch more of THIS GREAT RECIPE

Steve asked that I perk it up just a bit next time with some jalepenos. He's also been topping it with a chipotle dressing we love...I might try that next time instead of the olive oil.

I can tell I'm in Summer mode. The kids are stinky and I've given up trying to do anything with Mai's hair. We got rid of cable for the summer and it's amazing how quickly they've adjusted to NO 24 hour a day cartoon channels. I miss my DVR, but just barely. I feel so 70s right now. We've apparently lost all of our regular remotes to the tvs so now that we've returned the Comcast remotes, we have to actually haul our lazy butts out of bed or off the couch to change the channel...and there's no tv guide... not much tv watching going on around here...it's just too much trouble ;-)

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
