Winner. Champ. Hero. Conquerer. Medalist. Master. Star.

Numero Uno.
Ya...That's Right. I FINALLY WON!

Last week, I decided on my January Run For The Bling Of It Challenge race and found myself driving down to Eugene last night for a little Pottery Painting with Mai and my mom at Brush-Fire Pottery By You before settling in for a good night's sleep in preparation for this race:

I told my brother last weekend that I had finally entered a race I had a chance of winning. The winner would not be the fastest time, but rather the one who had the closest finishing time to their predicted time (without using watches or timing devices...THIS was hard!). I wanted to run faster than 10m/m so I predicted a finish time of 35:50 and I not only ran a good and mostly pain free (yay!!) race at 9:38m/m but I came in 1st in my age group!!...
...out of 1   :-D
...but I did come in 19/46 overall and I WON THE RACE!!! My predicted time was only 2 seconds off from my finishing time. Yes. I really am that good tease.

I proudly wear my bling!!! I got the sweatshirt for overall winner and of course my medal...
and a nice tech shirt in blue...
and some lovely hot chili to warm my wintery insides after the race. I also won complimentary entry to another race down in Eugene on March 24th ~ The Bring In Spring 5k ~ So I guess my March race is now officially planned.
I'm also doing The Shamrock and Natasha's Run in March, so I guess I can consider March FULL!

Thanks for listening me toot my own horn. I'm sure an occasion such as this win will not likely happen again, so you are safe from any future gloating :-D

That is just TOO FLIPPIN' COOL!!!!

Does your AG award say anywhere on it that you were the only person in that AG? haha

I don't know yet how many were in my AG yesterday. I just know three of them were in front of me.

Yay, Yay, yay!!! That's awesome!

Jeremiah and I did a time predict one on Thanksgiving morning. I was WAY off. I put a far fetched goal on there thinking it would make me run harder. We get there and it's a hilly all cross country course. It was fun though, it really is different not having a garmin or even a watch.

That's great you have a full March planned. You will have a lot to focus on in Feb. Your training for your 1/2 ironman is going to fly by!

Oh!!!!!!!!!!!! You are VERY consistent!
One of these days I am gonna have to try that Winter Predictor. Thanks for the heads up on the Eugene Race in March. My hubby wants to do a 5K and we couldn't find one before May. He didn't want to do any other distance. There's also the Truffle Shuffle in Feb- chocolate at the end of 4 miles. :)

CONGRATS on the WIN!!! =D You are GOOD!

Sweet! That is impressive to know the time you are going to finish.....and a 1st place is a 1st place!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Glad to know I'm not the only one to do that. Crazy
