Pink Is The New Black

I don't normally use the words pink, mini, and job interview in the same sentence, but I was feeling feisty yesterday as I dressed for an interview at a local gym.

So many great things going on in my life right now. I also have a feeling of peace about them all and whether they pan out or not, I'm moving in the right direction and it feels AWESOME!
I return to the gym on Friday for a practical interview and then we'll just see what happens. Regardless of the outcome of that and because of the interview, I will probably be getting TRX certified in December and I'm excited about that.

Boot camp.
Hmmm...it has definitely been as hard as everyone has told me it would be during the holiday season. Hard to get clients, that is! The classes are, shall we say, intimate. I have great expectations for the new year's classes, though, so I'm forging ahead and will start promoting the permanent boot camp in the next few weeks. I feel the holidays slipping away all ready. I need to remember to slow down and take a breath.

I've decided my main only athletic goal right now is to focus on the Eugene Half Marathon. I will be following the RLRF program that I tried out earlier this year. Unfortunately, I've done something to my foot with all this pounding of the pavement and handing out boot camp flyers and it is really bothersome, but I hope it's just a temporary glitch on my way to a sub 2 half marathon!
In the WAY back of my mind I am playing around with offering to mentor the TNT tri team in 2012, but I'm still mulling it over... and waiting to see how this next month plays out. Stay tuned!

I'm still giving thanks over on This Page.

  • My question to you today, as I have finally made an active choice to follow my own dreams...is...what is your dream for your future and how are you proceeding TODAY with taking a baby step OR a big step towards making that dream come true? - OR - are you in a place where that dream seems too big and overwhelming or unreachable? Talk to me!

I don't totally know what my dream is. I feel like there is something out there for me I just have to figure it out. I will let you know when I get there.

I've chased dreams many times in my life. Right now I'm not sure WHAT my big dream is other than to retire 'early'

Good luck in the interview

I predict your bootcamp will take off at New Years with all the resolutionist

As for your question, I am happy and lucky I am healthy enough to persue my racing dreams, I have bucket lists, races and distances I would like to do, I am taking baby steps toward them, but next season is going to be tough and fulfilling for what I am doing, its not really for me, sometimes that makes the best motivation in the world

Good luck with the interview. Love the skirt!

I'm reading RLRF now. I've almost decide I'm going to use this plan to train next year.

My dream? A full and half PR next year and to run a Ragnar type relay. Plans to take on a new training strategy is one way I'm working on making the dream of 2 PRs next year a reality.

Good luck with the intereview! I would imagine Bootcamp will pick up after the holidays. I know in my masters swim group, people are dropping out right and left right now and then magically re-appear in January.

Dreams... hmmm.. Not real sure. thinking about getting spin certified. Something along those lines, would be awesome :)

I bet once people are making resolutions your bootcamp will take off!

I am doing the Eugene Half! We should meet up :)

Good grief, I wasn't planning to do Eugene next year, but all the cool kids are going to be there. Dang.

I hope your holiday boot camp is a go. I want to come on the 28th, but if something happens, I'll get there in the new year.

The past year and a half has seen the fulfillment of a lot of pretty big goals for me, so I'm in the process of evaluating what's coming next. First things first, I have to figure out my goals for the Philly marathon next weekend :)

Congrats on the interview. I'm sure you nailed it if your awesome outfit is any indication!

My dream? I don't think I have a final dream. It's more like an evolution of moving towards a better me. Taking more opportunities to emerse myself in the things I truely love.
Today I will take one more step towards my next adventure in ultra running on the 19th. Short term, I have big life changes coming this spring and summer which will move me into a postion to live the daily life that I want to be living.

i love that you are doing all of this! and love TRX-that would be way fun. I think I have what I used to think was my dream job but it turns out it isn’t. I do hope one day I can do what i love- I would love to own my own running store-possibly back home in alabama. only time will tell. at least my current job gives me the flexibility to really enjoy the non-working time in my life.

That is great that you are doing that, good luck with the 2nd interview! The most rewarding job I've ever had was being a Personal Trainer and really wish I could go back to it someday but at the time I had to ensure a steady paycheck and go back to the corporate world. :-( Someday right!?

Lookin' pretty amazing in that skirt! :) Dreams? To BQ next year... 2 chances - 1 in LA in March and Eugene in April. I start my training next week!

I'll be doing the Eugene half too! First of 4 in 3 months.

I'm slowly working towards my dreams. Ordered the books to study to get certified as a personal trainer. Working towards moving the blog over to self hosting. Lots of networking at this point. Can't wait for the day that I can just DO IT.

I've been taking steps to make my athletic dreams happen. I'm starting grad school in January for my "big girl job", but that's not so much about dreams as it is about money and being better at my job. Not necessarily in that order.

But as far as big life dreams, I just don't know. Does "I want to do what I want to do" qualify as a dream? ...no, I didn't think so.

Can I just say your legs are ripped and amazing! Holy smokes--you go!

So glad you are figuring out what you want to do in life and making steps to get there. For me it is constant evaluation and figuring out steps to take, then taking them!

I hope boot camp picks up for you soon and I hope your foot is okay! When I get back to running I am hoping to try the RLRF method. Everyone seems to like it. I can't think of any big dreams now. Does that mean I am content or in a funk? I don't know!

I guess my dream is to try a tri and I am swimming to have a hope of doing it.

Good luck with the interview! AND, yay for getting TRX certified! I have one and love it!

Awesome that you are getting to pursue your dreams. A few years ago I took a shot at joining a couple start up companies which didn't pan out but I'm glad I gave them a shot. My next big goal is to do an Ironman and I think I need another year of endurance sports before I sign up for one.

Ohh TRX let me know how that goes =)

I'm always chasing a dream, always! After my second college degree, I'll probably throw in the towel and go to culinary arts school =)

You HAVE to do what you love!

No BIG BIG dreams right now career wise other than keeping my kick-ass job. Otherwise, my BIG dream is to try for a Thing #2 next year. A little crazy at 39 but whatever. I feel young (except in the morning when I get out of bed).
FOr day to day, trying to do 1 brave thing a day.

I am spending a fortune having a professional try to help fix a disaster that currently prevents me from achieving my dreams. That is about all I can say and about as specific as I can get since it involves another person. But good on you for charging straight ahead on your dreams!

Girl, you ROCK that skirt!!

Dreams- so glad to see you going after yours. In a way I am, but my dreams have shifted from what they were 15 years ago. I still have time to dream as long as I am breathing, though!

Great job going after your dream

I have 2 dreams... one that I'm pursuing - although not sure I can do it! I am going to do a triathlon in 2012!

And I have a dream that is in the beginning stages to start a new business..
