We were supposed to take off for Eugene this a.m. for a Christmas party today and then an early Christmas with my parents and my brother's family tomorrow, but the kids have been sick all week and Jack is still battling some tummy flu symptoms this morning so I thought I would take Ki for a run and see if he was well enough to travel when I got home.
We chose a trail close to home - Oaks Bottom - and it turned out to be a great little run. We were out there for about an hour and right at the start got up on a little hill and got a good view of the steam engine that was loading up families for a Christmas train ride. We saw lots of ducks and birds and squirrels and Ki was quite determined to catch one of something. I twisted my left ankle twice and my right ankle once within a matter of about one minute with her pulling and me not able to control my footsteps. We start official training this week, so hopefully they'll have some good ideas for me to control her better on the leash. All in all, though, she is a GREAT running friend. I let her get into the river for a bit after we were done so she could clean up a bit and now she's pooped and Jack says he ready to travel ~ so off we go...
