Codeine...I Thought You Would Be My Friend

germs.jpg

When Jack woke me up early this morning saying both ears hurt super bad, I knew it was time to get us to Urgent Care. We were waiting on their steps when they opened and left with antibiotics for his double ear infection and cough suppressant (although I don't really have a cough) with Codeine for me. We were both negative for strep, but I have a bad feeling as this day has gone on.

First though - I hope everyone who is doing the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge had a great start. I was pretty bummed that I started this challenge at urgent care, but I managed to get in 7.5 points today and I'm very happy about it! I almost felt like I shouldn't count them because it was a pretty lackluster day, but I did manage to get in all my fruits/veggies and my doctor ordered stretches and then went out for a brisk 2 mile dog walk and then when the codeine kicked in, I did P90X stretching video. Unfortunately the codeine is not sitting well with me and really hasn't seemed to do much for my throat pain. I mostly feel like I'm going to puke very soon. BUT>>>if it hadn't been for the challenge starting today, I would have done ZERO of the above, so I'm proud of myself and I'm counting those points!

The last time I felt this bad and had a negative strep, I ended up having mono. That was not a good experience...at all. Can you get mono more than once?

I know how you feel. Codeine is not my friend either. I hope everyone feels better soon.

I hope it's not mono! Yuck! But way to go getting your points in! It's going to be so hard for me to get in the veggies. I need to go read the rules again.

Hey Julie! I'm so sorry you still have this crud! I hope you guy's get over it soon.

Good job on getting in your points still today! I decided to join because I want to stay in shape over the holidays because I have that race coming up in Feb. I'm not sure on all the rules, do you know if you have to put in your points daily or weekly? Jeremiah and I ran a really hard 5K turkey trot yesterday, I feel like it should have been worth 10 points, lol. And I only ate 5 veggies and fruits. But I don't know why I'm telling you all this, I should go write it on my blog, ha ha!

Your blog is really growing, it's one of my favorites ;) I wish I was witty like you! My blog is b-0-r-i-n-g, but I still like to do it and I do it for me so I guess it doesn't matter. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll pray that your feeling better by your next post!

Patrick, I lowered the dose a wee bit the second time and either it sat with me better or I slept through the nausea. I'll try again today...'cause now I'm coughing.

Jen and Abby - Here are the rules (and Abby...I think you just have to keep track weekly)

1 Point per mile (run/walk/snowshoe)
1 Point per 3 miles biked
1 Point per 20 minutes of weight lifting, Pilates, yoga, stretching or abs
1 Point per 15 minutes of another form of cardio (i.e. kick boxing, aerobics elliptical)
1 Per day where you reach a minimum of 7 servings of fruits and veggies

Challenge will run from Nov 20 to Jan 7…this helps to cover you for the major holidays!

Additional points: Because I am all about taking care of your entire mind, body, soul connection there will be additional posts/questions where you can earn points throughout the challenge.

ABBY!! Your blog is NOT boring. You are my inspiration! You're in such awesome healthy shape and you're doing the job I want to be doing and you're such a great mom! Keep inspiring me!!
