that made my special day perfectly imperfect. Beth posted her list and I share some of her list - like not flossing. Although I don't just do it once a month. I do it only after I've eaten corn on the cob...so pretty much summertime is when I floss.
Today I'm going to share the Ten Rules I Broke On My Wedding Day.
1. The bride wears white. I wore blue...
2....which turned out beneficial when I spilled a glass of red wine all over myself after I had too many glasses of wine and tried to dance while drinking red wine. It was still a red stain, but looked much less dramatic than if I had been wearing virginal white. Um...this rule is...um...don't drink too much damn wine at your wedding. Your memories will be fuzzy.
3. Share a first kiss after the judge pronounces you man & wife. We hugged instead...
Check out my MIL in the blue behind us. some pre-wedding libations...some during wedding libations...giving away her baby boy...it was all just too much. Check out the sunglasses to hide the tears. That face, though!! She can't fool us...we know what's going on under there :D
4. Don't french kiss at your wedding - it's gross!!
Ok fine...we kissed, too... Look at him going after that!
Look at my Father-In-Law right behind husband's head. So disapproving of such PDAs. My dad on the far right is clapping, but he can't bring himself to actually watch this spectacle. My pretty mom in the red....she's ALL for it :D
5. Hire a professional photographer.
Completely unnecessary....look at these great pics I found in my wedding album...
6. Expect your guests to behave.
If you're going to serve massive amounts of booze, don't expect the ladies to act very ladylike...
I don't know what she's doing, but I know what he's looking at!
7. Have a beautiful and elegant "wedding cake". We made sure there was the right cake for everyone!
8.Think your mother-in-law is going to let go of him easily...
...there's that face again. I ADORE my Mother-In-Law, by the way. She is THE best!
9. Expect that the women will quit hitting on him now that he's wearing a ring on his finger.
10. Require shoes. Why...that is just no fun at all.
We actually had people who brought more comfortable clothes to change into for dancing :-)
Because as you can see, this was a very formal event and their "good" clothes were just too stiff and uptight. Seriously...best wedding ever!

Well, it's good you broke all the rules in one day, very efficient.
Our wedding was a mix of traditional and "us" stuff. I wore rainbow socks, our guests kazooed the wedding march, our cake had cartoon characters, my brother officiated. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Your wedding looks awesome.
Absolutely awesome!!!!
Love your take on all the photos:)))
You made my day!!!
:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Great story and pictures. What a fun wedding. I agree with #9--a ring means nothing to some people.
nailed it !
I love that you wore blue. GREAT list all in one day. You rock!

Clever themed rules!!
I love nontraditional weddings. Yours looked like so much fun! That is the kind of wedding I'd like to be a part of. :)
And I bet it was one of the fun-nest weddings most of your guests ever attended. :)
I love the blue and I love that everyone looked to be having so much fun. that is how a wedding should be.
I love absolutely everything about this!
That's how a wedding should be--FUN AND MEMORABLE!!!!!
We ran off to the Virgin Islands for our wedding. Just us, the photographer and videographer, and the preacher dude. It was awesome.
Love this!!
This is a riot. The dancing pics are awesome!
That looked like a fun time for everyone concerned! Lovely pics.
Gotta love a FUN wedding! Many good memories for everyone!
Way to break out of the box!!!
You are beautiful, lady! Yes...more photos.
Our guests apparently were unsatisfied with the booze (or lack of it) at our wedding. We had champagne for a toast (just a case). They broke into it and we found some relatives with their own bottles guzzling on the deck...

Love this....way to break the rules. Your wedding looks like it was very fun! I didn't hire a photographer either - and it's one thing I wish now I had done...but oh well. Those grainy, overexposed pics are still great memories!
Hilarious! ;)
This has been my my favorite blog post in a long time! Kudos!
