Sure enough, a little conversation and one glass of wine later, I was feeling a little more calm. Things started to look up when amongst all the garage sale items my in-laws were donating to my fund raiser garage sale, I noticed these little gems...
MIL refused to tell me why she had them in her possession, which only made me giddier.
On the way home, against my better judgment, I bought a bottle of wine. When I returned home, I drank the wine. When I awoke yesterday, I remembered that I had been contacted last week by my very first company for a product review on my blog. I'm sure you'll be as tickled as me to know it was for Zaca. Their tag line is "Feel better long after you're done with the party". I wondered where the hell my samples were as this would have been a great time to try them out. Then I wondered what exactly about my blog made them contact me? Posts about drinking entire bottles of wine on a weeknight? Maybe.
So yesterday, I felt A.W.F.U.L. but I made myself go to the gym and kill my upper body with a good weight workout. Then the kids got home and we headed to our neighborhood common area to play ball.
Let's play ball! |
Jack is in Jammies because it was PJ day at school. |
We went up to spooky forest and found a cool hiding spot. |
4, 5, 6 and 7 leaf clovers? |
and Mai started a club called the Coyote Cove Survivor Club. Our cat was killed up there by coyotes two years ago and she figures this little den is where the coyotes sleep at night.
Then I fell asleep for 2 minutes before it was time to head to the track. I was SO tired and bed was calling. I roused myself up and out the door and in 2 minutes time, it had gone from tank top weather to a downpour. Despite being hungover, late and having continuing left leg issues from Monday's run, I had a refreshingly hard and rainy hill repeat workout on Terwilliger with the team. A FANTASTIC 6+ miles later, I was heading on home! One more day in the books.

Ha! Your Tuesday was my Wednesday! Well, the wine part anyway! The in-laws and the handcuffs-gotta love that one. Bad bad visual of MY MIL holding handcuffs-aaahhhh!
Way to still get the workouts in-Nice job!!!
I am impressed! I have had wine Tuesdays several times to fend off a breakdown but I must say I am never quite as successful as you with the next days workout! Hope you were able to avoid the break down! :-)
Ah girl, you made me laugh!! I think I'm the one person in the world who doesn't like wine much (but I love a good beer!! :)). Glad it calmed you down some and I'm sure the thought of where those handcuffs have been certainly helped take the edge off!! :)
I think subconsciously I've been drinking less because I can NOT get motivated to workout when I'm hungover! So kudos to you for bustin out that 6miler and upper body! Wow! The handcuffs--TOO funny!
I'm sure those moments with the kids soaked up some of the nasties too. :)
LOL the handcuffs oh man! A bottle of wine cures all!
I seriously have no idea how people with jobs AND kids have time to train. Kudos to you!
I wish I could say wine is my go to comfort drug but mine is choc. I would probably eat the whole bag. I hate when I feel like that. Glad you were able to get those 6+ miles in and are feeling better. NOW the in-laws with handcuffs my mind is totally in a bad place. HA HA. Hey do you think I could borrow those handcuffs. I might come up with some intersting ways to use them. OH Sorry I get carried away. I know this is a G rated blog not X rated. As my kids say I'M BAD.
you're cracking me up. I had wine on friday night, even though I had a nine mile planned for saturday. OF COURSE one glass lead to four....but I NAILED the 9.3 mile run! Wine = carb loading : )
Oh boy...if I would have had a whole bottle of wine I don't think I would have been able to get out of bed at all!!! You are too funny!
I might have to drink a whole bottle of wine just to erase any thoughts why my mom has handcuffs
Hehe...had to laugh VERY LOUD AND LONG at Big Daddy Diesel's comment;)))
Wine is my best friend. And I seem to have mastered the "next-day" quite well as it has happened so often;)
Good job for another day in the books!
I love this post! Reminds me about the best part of being a mom AND a runner! Plus I too....really like wine!
You guys are too funny! What a bunch of winos I have on my hands with you athletes :-)
I'm going with my in-laws must have dressed up as cops at a Halloween party one year...or something like that :D
The handcuffs are hilarious. I can't believe they let those get mixed up with the other stuff...
Nice job on the training!
That is WAY TOO FUNNY about the handcuffs. Just be glad your in-laws aren't like my in-laws. My in-laws would have told you exactly why they had the handcuffs. In detail.
Perhaps your MIL had the handcuffs because they are no longer working on her husband. Perhaps he finally learned to get out of them.Yikes!
haha this is hilarious! glad you had a good day. : )
I am very impressed at your ability to go run after the night you had! I'd be hitting the bed, for sure. I'll bet today felt a whole lot better!
Love to know more about those handcuffs! Buy her some wine and get the story.
Way to fight off the sleepies and get your run in!!!
Your kiddos are so so adorable!!!
MIL with the handcuffs??? :)
The handcuffs are making me laugh....trying not to let my mind wander:)
Good for you for drinking your wine and for getting out there and doing hills. I am sick just thinking about it.
Just found your blog...can't wait to read more!
Congrats to you for getting a great run in even with all those challenges.
We usually have wine Thursday but...Tuesday is good! Why put off the fun?
This post cracked me up. Well, it actually worried me on my blogger page with the talk about drinking, shouldn't have, and the handcuff picture!
And I've been drinking more than my share for the past couple of weeks. Who needs Xanex when wine is so much cheaper...and more fun? :)
I'm going to what will undoubtedly be a wine-filled bachelorette party Saturday night, and have every intention of getting in my run on Sunday... I'll be channeling you on that one :)
too funny. so did the product work?
i just had a garage sale fundraiser this past week. hardest thing i've done in ALL my tnt training! but we raised $800. whoot whoot! good luck at your sale.
